you know sometimes i give up on a new post because i can’t think of a title.

anyhow. i’m back in boston! naureen, my friend from montreal, is also here with me…and we’ve been exploring the city and i haven’t had time to slow down or think…so a “real” blog post is still on hold.

so today, we’ve got our girly dresses n pearls on and we’re headed off to the isabella stewart gardner museum to look at art, sketch in the courtyard and sip tea.

i’m still in montreal….i have one more week left…gotta make the most of it cus who knows when i’ll be back

the weather is all sorts of glorious-ness today so i need to blog and get myself outside! i’ll save the tourist-y pics for later…and stick to food for now.

so…i’m in full-on diet mode. i’m gonna be sitting on the beach in about two weeks and shopping in asia in three months…weight loss is kinda urgent! so despite being on a vacation of sorts, i’ve stuck mostly to grocery shopping and making my meals at home. i guess it also helps a little that i’m totally broke

hi guys! bon jourrrr from montreal!

i’ve only been here a few hours, but so far so good, except that it’s freezing out and there are people walking around in down coats which is totally not kosher for may!

my week has been crazy and sooo incredibly long. in the past seven days, i flew from cali to mass, moved (temporarily!) to framingham, packed, unpacked, packed again, crashed in boston for a couple days and now i’m in montreal.

i’m exhausted, so i’m just leaving you with some pics from the week…

so basically, what you should take from these pics is that when the goin’ gets tough, i turn to cocktails, froyo and a little yoga for balance umm…and maybe some other things that i will not mention anyhow, the last two pics are from today! that’s my dear and oldest friend miss nars who i’m visiting in canadaaa right now. she took me to a pay by the pound veggie restaurant for dinner. i’m telling you, that plate (that’s a big hunk of ginger tofu btw) put the whole foods hot bar to shame- and that aint no small feat. i see many more meals there (gotta learn the name!) in the future.

i’m eating japanese for dinner

i’m sure you’ve heard this before, but when you grow up in so cal, tacos just ain’t the same anywhere else (outside of mexico, obviously). so tonight i’m celebrating by eating sushi and washing it down with a margarita if i can find one in the same spot. (it could happen cus asian restaurants are just as much of a hot mess out here too.) i’m sorry, i’m going to continue hating on this state until i get out of here- i have my reasons, i promise.

so back to mexican food.

best thing i’ve ever eaten in mexico…fish tacos, of course! i’m pretty sure that’s everyones answer or it should be anyway. and the sketchier the stand, the yummier the tacos, am-i-right?

well, i haven’t been to mexico in years and years, but back in cali, every tuesday mi familia gets 99 cent crispy fish tacos from pacific fish grill in chino hills. they’re pretty darn good and how can you beat that price? i have to admit i had a craving and went back on a non-tuesday when they cost like $2 something and the fish they used was a whole lot better. but i’m asian and i like a good deal so we’re sticking to tuesdays.

oh! and they have a whole bunch of other tuesday tacos deals too…below are crispy fish, crispy shrimp, and salmon. the shrimpies are my fave.

YUM? remember to sub the lettuce for cabbage. cus cabbage > iceberg when we’re talking about seafood…or in general

did i tell you guys i’m giving up meat for the time being? except, i don’t consider seafood to be meat cus it’s just so delicious that it deserves a category of it’s own. so i’m a pescatarian…sounds kinda silly doesn’t it? well, we’ll see how long i can keep that one up.

greetings from the framingham public library. no exclamation point there. trust me.

anyway. i’m back in massachusetts. my life for the next week is packing, unpacking, and packing again. i don’t have internet access at home, so i’m going to have to bring my laptop to the library next time and upload the gazillion pics i took in cali.

i’m missing cali big time you guys. i miss the beach, i miss the mountains, i miss the sunshine, and umm…some other things that are keeping a smile on my face despite everything to the contrary.

god, did that even make sense? i’m a horrible writer. at some point in my life, i used to be pretty decent. i swear.

i’m just rusty. i’ve got some straightening out and fixering up to do. i’ve been living someone else’s life for the past two years. some moments were nice…but it wasn’t me. i’m ready to be me again.

i’m flying back to boston tonight…i should be packing but blogging is so much more fun.

the first thing i did when i woke up this morning was look for a scale. i had to see how much weight i gained in the month i was here in california. luckily, i couldn’t find a scale and i can still be oblivious and happy.

i had fun during this visit, especially considering the circumstances. i’ve decided that i love this sunny little state and it’s where i want to be. in fact, i’m pretty convinced it’s where i belong. so next time i come back, i’ll be staying for a while.

but before then, i will indulge in one last crazy east coast summer.
